We use Wendy Laura Belcher's highly acclaimed book, Writing Your Journal Article in Twelve Weeks*, as a guide to revising a draft into a submittable journal article. Similar to the Dissertation Writing Groups, we will work in solidarity alongside other peers committed to meeting ambitious goals on a shared timeline, and participate in a facilitator-led group that shares ideas and resources in various areas of the journal and article-writing and submitting process. This program is also designed as a workshop, and participants will be asked to share specific drafts of their writing: abstracts, argument statements, literature reviews, etc.
Applications for Article Writing Groups go out every August, April, and December, and the application is quite competitive. Please contact wts@iu.edu for questions or more information about the program.
*This textbook is required for group participation. Participants are responsible for obtaining a personal copy.

This upcoming term, WTS intends to offer at least 1 workshop group for newcomers, as well as at least 1 workshop group for returning participants, all of which will meet weekly throughout the semester.

The application deadline is Monday, January 5th, 2026 by 5:00 p.m. EST. Application selection will be competitive, based on ability to commit fully to the workshop's program and expectations as well as on the thoughtfulness of your responses. After those elements are taken into consideration, applications will be considered on a first-come, first-served basis.
